Muting a competitor or source

Mute a competitor or source to stop alerts from it without removing it from tracking.

Muting stops alerts from a specific competitor or source without removing it from tracking.

  1. Open the competitor or source

Go to the competitor, or a specific source under Sources, that you want to quieten.

  2. Mute it

    Select Mute.

  3. Confirm

Confirm the change. Tracking continues; only alerts from that competitor or source stop.

What still gets through

Vyera keeps tracking and recording changes for a muted competitor or source, it just stops alerting you about them. Data stays available in reports and the agent, so muting is not the same as removing a competitor. See Removing a competitor if you want it gone entirely.

If it does not work

  • Check whether you muted the whole competitor or only one source under it. Muting a source only affects alerts from that source.
  • If alerts are still arriving after muting, check your Slack channel is not receiving them from a different delivery setting. See Choosing where alerts are delivered.
