When you enter a competitor's website, Vyera checks that the domain is reachable and points to a real, public site before creating the competitor and its starting source.
What the check involves
Vyera confirms the domain resolves to an actual website, rather than a typo or a page that does not exist. Once confirmed, it uses the homepage as the starting point for the source it creates automatically.
Why this matters
Checking the domain upfront catches most typos and broken entries immediately, rather than letting you add a competitor whose source would fail on its first run. See Competitor domain will not resolve if this check fails for you.
What it does not do
This check confirms a domain is reachable, not that it is the correct site for the competitor you intend to track. It does not verify the business behind the domain, and it does not check every page on the site, only that the homepage itself is reachable.
It also does not guarantee the source will succeed on every future run. A domain that resolves today can still be temporarily unreachable or blocked later, which is a separate situation covered in What "bot blocked" means.
