Reading the sentiment view
Sentiment by theme tells you more than an overall average, because an average can hide which specific thing is driving it.
Sentiment by theme tells you more than an overall average, because an average can hide which specific thing is driving it.
What to look at
The sentiment view breaks feedback down by theme rather than giving a single blended figure, so you can see which specific aspects of a competitor, or your own business, are driving sentiment up or down. Periods with low review volume are marked as such, since a handful of reviews can swing an average without being representative.
What it does not do
The sentiment view does not treat reviewers as a neutral sample of every customer. People who leave reviews are self-selected, usually towards stronger opinions in either direction, so the trend and the mix of themes matter more than the raw sentiment number on its own.
