Ad spend estimates and their limits

Ad spend figures are estimates, and the direction of a trend is more reliable than any single number.

Nobody outside a company actually knows its ad spend, so every figure shown here is a range rather than a fact.

What is safe to rely on and what is not

Ranges published directly by an ad platform's own transparency library are firmer than ranges Vyera has to model from other signals. Either way, the safe use of this data is direction and rough comparison on the same platform: is spend rising, falling, or roughly similar to another competitor's. Quoting the midpoint of a range as if it were a real figure is not safe, because the true number could sit anywhere across it.

The true total a competitor spends usually exceeds what is visible here, since it does not cover platforms outside library coverage, or spend such as sponsorships that never appears in a transparency library at all.

What it does not do

An ad spend estimate does not give you a number to state publicly as fact, to a customer or anywhere external. Treat every figure here as a range for your own comparison, not a quotable statistic about a competitor.
