What causes your position to change

Your position changes because your own pages changed, your profile changed, or the market moved around you.

Your position changes for one of three reasons.

The three movers

Your own public pages changed, so the claims being read from them changed. Your company profile changed, which shifts your side of the comparison directly. Or the market moved around you: a competitor's claimed positioning shifted, and because position is relative, that moves where you appear even though nothing about your own business changed.

What it does not do

A position change does not always mean something is wrong, or that you did anything differently. Because your position is relative to competitors, it can shift purely because someone else's messaging did. See Why your position looks wrong if a change seems mistaken rather than simply unwelcome.
